Distractions

Yeasterday I was in an accident.

It was my fault... I ran a red light.

Kali & I were on our way to set up for the Ward Pioneer day party of which I am in charge. I had Chili in the front seat, ice, & ice cream in the back and was trying to be careful so the chili wouldn't spill. I knew how happy that would make Steve. He works so hard at keeping the car so nice & clean inside & out. The car in front of me was going to turn right so I decided to change lanes so I wouldn't have to slow down (less chance to have the chili spill) as I checked my blind spot the light was green and by the time I changed lanes and looked back at the light it was red!!! I slamed on the breaks but I couldn't stop in time. I smashed into a Ford F-150. I hit the rear passanger side tire and took it right off. I am so grateful nobody was hurt and that this situation turned out as well as it did. I know it could have been much worse.

I'm so grateful ya'll were okay. Sorry that happened! I've done something similiar (just after our school flooded my first year) and a cop pulled me over. I was blessed not to get a ticket but I had honestly just followed the car infront of me while neglecting to look at the light till I was under it. I wasn't sure how long it had been red. Thanks so much for everything you did for the activity. I really wish we would have been there to help :)

Steve called this morning looking for Bob and told me about your accident and blog. It's fun to see recent picture of your kids. Lily looks so different from the last picture I saw of her. And Kali is adorable. I hope you guys are doing well. Hope we can get together soon. - Tasha

Ok, but what Mandy didn't post was how strong she was -- she went on to host a fabulous ward party right after the accident and taught us all what she learned through her experience about carrying on. What a woman!
